The standard we aim for
This site aims for level AA of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, the World Wide Web Consortium’s guide to making websites usable by people with disabilities.
What the site does
On every page you’ll find:
- a Skip to content link, the first thing your keyboard reaches
- an outline that shows where you are as you tab through the page
- body text with a contrast of at least 4.5 to 1 against its background, the level AA asks for
- text descriptions on the photos that carry information, for screen readers
- a label on every form field
- zoom that works: nothing on the site stops you enlarging the page
- no moving animations when your device is set to reduce motion
