What's included
What a gutter cleaning includes
Here’s what we take care of on a cleaning, from the roof edge down to the yard.
-
Inside each gutter
Gutters cleared
Inside each gutter, we clear out the leaves and dirt so rain runs to the downspouts again.
-
Down each downspout
Downspouts flushed
Down each downspout, we run water through to wash out what’s stuck, so it drains freely.
-
On the ground below
Debris hauled off
On the ground below, we pick up the debris and haul it off, so your yard and drive are left clear.
-
Along each run
A look for loose or damaged runs
Along each run, we check for loose hangers and damaged spots, and tell you what we find.
Clean gutters, inside and out
Dark stripes down the front of your gutters can usually be cleaned off, and guards keep most of the debris out of them.
-

Black streaks on the outside of gutters
The gray-black stuff on the face and underside of your gutters is mostly dirt, soot and grime the rain washes off your roof, with mildew where it stays damp. Streaks generally come off with a cleaner made for the job, a soft brush and a rinse.

Clean less often with gutter guards
Gutter guards cover the top of your gutters and keep out most of the leaves, pine needles and other debris that clog them. We install roll-lock steel, stainless-steel mesh and louvered guards.

FAQs
Gutter cleaning questions
What does gutter cleaning cost?
It depends on how many feet of gutter your house has, how high they run, how many downspouts there are and how full they are. Two stories of gutters packed with leaves take longer than one story of light dust. Call us and we’ll give you a price before any work starts.
How often should gutters be cleaned?
Most houses need it once or twice a year: in the spring after the trees flower, and in the fall after the leaves drop. Gutters under trees can need more, and Lubbock’s wind blows dust and grit into gutters even where there are no trees. Call us and we’ll tell you what yours need.
How can I tell my gutters need cleaning?
Watch them in a hard rain. Water spilling over the front, a downspout that barely runs, or plants growing along the edge all mean something is blocking the flow, and a run that sags between its hangers may be full and heavy. If you see any of these, call us.
What happens if gutters aren’t cleaned?
The water has nowhere to go, so it spills over onto your siding and pools beside the foundation. Wet leaves sitting against the fascia, the board the gutters hang on, can rot it over time, and a full gutter can sag or pull away. Call us before it gets that far.
Do downspouts need cleaning too?
Yes. Leaves and grit wash down from the gutter and jam at the elbows, so a clean gutter can still overflow if its downspout is blocked. A good cleaning clears the downspouts as well as the gutters. If yours barely run in a hard rain, call us.
