Gutter guards in Lubbock

Gutter guards for new or existing gutters, installed in Lubbock and Wolfforth.

Gutter guards

What gutter guards are

Gutter guards are covers fitted over the top of your gutters. Rain still runs in, but leaves and debris stay out, so the gutters stay clear and drain between cleanings. We do gutter guard installation in Lubbock and Wolfforth, on new seamless gutters or on existing gutters that are sound.

What we install

The gutter guards we install

Guards keep leaves and debris out, so your gutters stay clear between cleanings. These are the three kinds we install, and the guards we fit into downspouts.

A roll-lock steel gutter guard on a grey K-style gutter: a black screen of diamond-shaped holes arched over it, its front edge rolled over the gutter’s lip

Roll-lock steel guards

A powder-coated steel screen whose front edge rolls over the gutter’s lip and locks on. It keeps out leaves and other large debris.

A stainless-steel mesh gutter guard on a grey K-style gutter: fine woven mesh between solid aluminum edges, sloping up from the gutter’s lip

Stainless-steel mesh guards

A fine stainless-steel mesh in a solid frame. It keeps out leaves and small debris like pine needles and seeds.

A louvered gutter guard on a grey K-style gutter: a black aluminum cover with rows of small louvers, sloping up from the gutter’s lip

Downspout guards

A downspout guard is a mesh screen fitted into the outlet at the foot of a downspout, so water still drains out but leaves and small animals can’t get in. We’ve fitted them to keep rabbits out of a customer’s downspouts.

FAQs

Gutter guard questions

A white farmhouse with a chimney between two dormers, a covered porch and black gutters, under a clear blue sky.

Are gutter guards worth it?

Yes, if trees drop leaves, seeds or needles on your roof, or if your gutters are high enough that gutter cleaning is a real chore. Guards keep most of that out, so the gutters stay open when it rains. If there are no trees near your house and your gutters rarely clog, they may not pay off, and we’ll tell you so at the free estimate.

What is the downside of gutter guards?

They add to the cost of your gutters. Fine seeds and grit can still build up on top of some guards and need brushing off, and a guard that’s put on poorly can send heavy rain over the gutter instead of into it. When the gutter underneath does need cleaning, the guard has to come off or open up first.

Do I still need to clean gutters with guards?

Less often, but they still need a look. Guards keep out leaves and larger debris, while fine grit, seeds and pine needles can settle on top or slip through. Check them after a big storm and when the trees drop, and brush off what’s collected. If you’d rather not climb up, call us.

Can you put guards on my existing gutters?

Guards can go on existing gutters that are sound, hang straight and drain well. On a run that leaks, sags or pulls away, a guard only hides the problem until the gutter is fixed. Call us and we’ll look at yours.

What are the worst gutter guards?

Stay away from thin plastic guards, which can warp and crack in the sun, and from foam or brush inserts that sit inside the gutter and fill up with seeds and grit. Guards that aren’t fastened down can blow loose in a strong wind, and a guard that doesn’t fit your gutter’s size and shape leaves gaps for leaves to get through. We’ll go over the guards we install at the free estimate.
